Art Deco Themes
The Ohio Advertising Display Company had designers with a slant toward the art-deco style of sign design. The Sealtest lighted sign shown above is a prime example of this art-deco influence. Many of their signs were encased in a painted metal frame and had one to four silver accent bands. |
Ohio Advertising Display History
Currently my information about the history of the Ohio Advertising Display Company is not very complete. Interestingly many of the premier sign ad designers came from the Ohio area, especially from Lima Ohio. Several various sign companies sprouted up. One can assume that they worked off each other and the competition made their signs high sought after. The Ohio Advertising Display Company did collaborate with Telechron on the clock sign. I would like any historical information I can get about the Ohio Advertising Display Company. Please contact me with any information and I will credit your help on this site. Thanks! |
Other sign makers from Ohio
Ohio was the hot bed for advertising lighted signs from the 1930's through the 1960's. Other companies besides the Ohio Advertising Display Company included the lackner Co., and the Neon Products Inc.
